Bethesda clearly knows that Starfield is a big deal, because it has worked hard to generate a lot of hype for upcoming reveals. In a Reddit AMA from last year, Starfield game director and Bethesda executive producer Todd Howard mentioned plans to discuss Starfield more explicitly during summer 2022, so the wait for new announcements seems like it’s almost over. Bethesda’s reputation suggests that the hype for Starfield will likely pay off, but with so many questions unanswered about the game so far, there are still a lot of ways that Starfield could surprise fans....
In the meantime, the lead designer for Starfield, Emil Pagliarulo, has been speaking in a new post on the Bethesda website about what’s been inspiring them during the game’s creation. They say that the design team itself has been a source of inspiration for them, especially as they’ve been working there for 19 years. In terms of games, they say they’ve been particularly wowed by the likes of Cyberpunk and Spider-Man....
In fact, there were some who theorized that Starfield could be coming this April to coincide with the International Day of Human Space Flight, which takes place on April 12. Obviously, that’s just speculation and neither Bethesda nor its parent company ZeniMax have confirmed this. All that’s known is that the game is set to launch sometime in 2023, with hopes that it will be within the first half of the year....
Animal followers in Bethesda games are perfect for players who want the conveniences that come with having a companion, minus the human interaction. Skyrim and Fallout 4 had lovable pooches like Meeko and Dogmeat who followed the player wherever they went, and without fussing about their actions. Starfield could very well benefit from implementing a similar system. Although this new IP has a lot of potential for unique, alien-like animal followers....
