Fans also saw actual gameplay from the ambitious title, including combat against a space pirates faction, walking through various settlements, as well as interacting with NPC characters. What fans noticed right away is the overall improvement to facial animations in Starfield versus some of Bethesda’s older RPG titles. This includes small details like animated skin folds, facial animations, and skin wrinkles, which are now more defined and makes the characters look more believable....

One element that players were particularly excited about was the game’s character creator and how they’d be able to customize their protagonist. This is an integral part of many RPGs, and with recent games like Elden Ring being praised for their use of this feature, Starfield already has a lot to live up to. From what’s been shown and discussed so far, it seems like Bethesda and Starfield might be looking to titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and previous entries in The Elder Scrolls series to inform the upcoming game’s classes and character backgrounds....

While Starfield has been on more than a few ‘most anticipated’ lists for a while, Bethesda was able to keep the game mostly under wraps until recently. A few leaks emerged, but nothing that was terribly exciting or groundbreaking. The past few months have seen a pickup in content around the upcoming action RPG, but after it was delayed into 2023, fans were worried that they might not see much more of Starfield this year....

A huge part of that will be the technology and options that Starfield puts in the hands of players. Tools for exploration, exploitation, and combat are expected to be more plentiful within the high science setting, and this already seems to be the case. Base building and ship customization are already a great start when it comes to players putting their personal stamp on the galaxy, but there’s one more piece of tech that Starfield should definitely bring to them, and it’s one Bethesda is very familiar with: power armor....
