One of the most significant updates for Stardew Valley post-launch was Update 1.5, which added Ginger Island, new characters, new challenges, a new dungeon, new gameplay mechanics, and more on top of important bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements. Notably, Stardew Valley Update 1.5 also added local co-op to the game and improved the multiplayer experience generally, so it’s no wonder it’s considered one of the most important updates the game has seen since launch.

Understandably, those playing the mobile version of Stardew Valley have been anxious to get the 1.5 update, but they’ve gone years without it. Stardew Valley Update 1.5 launched at the end of 2020 for most players, so mobile gamers on Android and iOS have already waited two years. There was hope that Stardew Valley update 1.5 would come to mobile before the year was out, but ConcernedApe has since announced that the update is being pushed back to an undetermined day next week. ConcernedApe thinks that it would be possible to release it right now, but waiting one more week will ensure quality. “I accept full responsibility for not hitting the end of year target,” ConcernedApe said on Twitter.

Many Stardew Valley mobile gamers were completely understanding about the delay and offered ConcernedApe words of encouragement. As one Stardew Valley fan pointed out, it’s already been a two-year wait, so waiting another week is no big deal. Of course, there were other Stardew Valley updates that came after 1.5, so it will be interesting to see when they might make their way to mobile platforms, if at all.

Some Stardew Valley fans may want to see ConcernedApe focus his efforts on his next game instead. ConcernedApe’s next game is called Haunted Chocolatier, and in it, players will run their own chocolate shop. The game has some supernatural elements to it and while it looks similar to Stardew Valley from an art style standpoint, it should have no problem carving out an identity of its own. Haunted Chocolatier is currently without a release date, but it should generate significant buzz when it gets closer to release thanks to the runaway success of Stardew Valley.

Stardew Valley is available now for mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and legacy platforms.
