Right up there with the sky is blue, the grass is green and holy crap it’s hot in Indianapolis, news of another Busch pole win filtered among racing fans.

You know the story: Busch outran the field, including teammates Daniel Suarez and Erik Jones, in qualifications for Saturday race at Indy. The Lilly Diabetes 250 was scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. ET. Busch is the defending champion. And by the way, Busch entered the race with eight Xfinity Series win this season.

A number of other Sprint Cup drivers are in the race. Among the fastest: Kyle Larson, Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano.

And not to be outdone, Busch won pole position for Sunday’s Brickyard 400, with Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Carl Edwards second and Denny Hamlin fourth.
